I love hearing Kerry's supporters saying "it was just a botched joke." Considering the ire that this "joke" has raised at home (as noted in this picture), I have two questions.

One - do we really want a man incapable of telling a joke in charge of negotiating international treaties and acting as our voice?

Two - what exactly *was* the joke he was trying to tell, and would it have been any less stupid or offensive if it had come off as he wanted?
