Yer up! - The Armorer

Flutterby's sister needs some help. ALa seems to be coordinating.

Sigh. One more thing to be concerned about - fraud resulting from PIN theft because merchants store your PIN. -The Armorer

Every so often, even the LA Times gets fed up with the California State Legislature. Who'd a-thunk the Banana Slug was a serious contender for the job of State Mollusk?

Blackfive sites in on something that only a infantryman can love...well ok...we Crazy Legs will like it too...if we ever get it. The 6 round, 40 mm grenade launcher. Behold!
The M-32 You African vets may recognize it by another name however. Milkor MGL Mk-1S The gun bunnies may note some design differences between it and the MGL-140 Either way its still a lot of portable firepower to have on hands for a weapons team.

Um, *ow*. , h/t, the Resident DAT.

The Military is the most trusted organization in the country. Heh. At 47%. We're all pretty tired of ourselves if no one can even break 50%... -The Armorer

The more I think about the Dubai Ports World debacle, the more annoyed I get. Therefore, I won't think about it anymore. Besides, Cassandra said everything I would have, and does it better. It's not just dumb, as I noted elsewhere - Congress, in doing this, having "done something" will now ignore any serious debate on port security and funding of same. And this is a republican congress. I guess I can't die too soon and just get out of the way of the moonbats. Because the dems are worse. Feh. And they wonder why we ignore them until we can no longer. Feh again. -The Armorer

Tower, this is Black Lions, Tomcatters...making final approach Saying goodbye to the F-14D Super it sheaths its claws and goes home to roost to prowl no more.

*A term of art from the artillery. Harassment and Interdiction Fires.

Back in the day, when you could just kill people and break things without a note from a lawyer, they were pre-planned, but to the enemy, random, fires at known gathering points, road junctions, Main Supply Routes, assembly areas, etc - to keep the bad guy nervous that the world around him might start exploding at any minute.

Not really relevant to today's operating environment, right? But, it *is*

The UAVs we fly over Afghanistan and Pakistan looking for targets of opportunity are a form of H&I fires, if you really want to parse it finely. We just have better sensors and fire control now.

I call the post that because it's random things posted by me and people I've given posting privileges to that particular topic. It's also an open trackback, so if (Don Surber uses it this way a lot) someone has a post they're proud of, but it really isn't either Castle kind of stuff, or topical to a particular post, I've basically given blanket permission to use that post for that purpose. Another term of art that might be appropriate is "Free Fire Zone".
