Thanks for the link, John! I still find it amazing that the Seattle news wasn't buzzing over this for 3 weeks. *grrrrrr*

WOW, this is the first I heard of this. Eyes will be kept peeled for these clowns.

However, minor point, these soldiers were not targeted because they were soldiers, and most likely their attackers didn't even know. Beatings like this happen every day downtown. People that would do this need to be hunted down anyway, whether they attacked soldiers or not.

But what happened here was highly unusual. Usually the wolves won't challenge a sheep dog. Something very odd going on indeed. Full view of the public, with a camera rolling. These wolves need to be hunted down, and put down, permanently.

Its Seattle.

While I concur these asswipes need to have a thuro working over, Seattle has never exactly been at the top of the pro Military city lists, which is really sad.

HEY! I LIVE HERE!!

Actually, Seattle gets a bum rap on a lot of things. Rain? We broke a record a couple years ago by getting 100 inches in a year. South Carolina can get that in just 2 hurricanes.

We also have our more-than-fair-share of vocal political lefty nutjobs. There are actually very few people around here that would openly disrespect a soldier.

But I do understand why the nation has that impression.

Mcart - You're right that the thugs likely had no clue that these young men were soldiers, since they are not wearing uniforms. But the brutality of kicking an unconscious man in the head is despicable - these animals should be hunted down.

The fact that the video shows so many standing around (cheering, it appears, although I have no sound) and No One tries to intervene, coupled with the lack of help to the police since then tells me all I need to know about the whole pack of jackals.

Also - remember this?

MCart briefed on August 25, 2005 05:31 PM

Oh I remember. That's why I have a concealed weapons permit. I can't count on the gentle people wandering around to come to my aid if anthing like this happens to me. I wonder if its something in the water that makes people around here so weak..

I want to know why these things never happen when i'm around... I'm not spoiling for a fight, but i'd much rather have a chance to stop it, than read about it in the newspaper.

No offense intended MCart.

I used to live in Des Moines then Lacey while I was staioned at Ft Lewis.

I still remember the jackyls who came out to protest while we were getting off the C-130 at McChord......

Whether or not the thugs knew they were soldiers...I wonder how fast they'd be caught if LTG Dubik (Ft Lewis CG) got together with his local Navy and USAF counterparts and declared Seattle off-limits until the thugs are caught?

Good instincts, Dave. (Puts on Practical Hat) Tough to enforce, but it certainly would shake 'em up somewhat.
