SWWBO is a touch under the weather, but still having fun and stylin' in her purty new hat!

We've had good food, met interesting people, heard some good music played by some real characters all with pretty weather.
We've met performing puppies, and some tired working puppies.
We made our initial foray into the Cohen and Sons store, found some cool stuff.
And, as always, the Armorer can find cannon in all sorts of interesting places.
Anywhere, even in the French Quarter (not in a museum, either)

And last, but not least, we found this. *For Denizennes only*. From am earlier life...
Barb, BCR, SGT B - record setting weather, eh?
AND, SWWBO wants you to know the Carnival of the Recipes is up!
It was freakin' HOT yesterday here in Seattle/Issaquah - 83 degrees at one point by the gauge in the Xplorer. I heard there were thunderstorms southwest of us - didn't see any sign of it from here.
Nice pic for us Denziennes, John. Heh - must be #82 in an earlier life ;-)
OH - and Nice hat, Beth!
Hope you feel better.
No. 82 eh? Now I see yer fixation with Cannons.
Oh BTW - like dem Blunderbuses (or is it blunderbi?), at Cohen n' Sons.
Nawlins rules. You absolutely MUST go to Cafe Du Monde for coffee and beignets if you haven't done so yet. Order the chickory coffee with milk version, whichever that is. And the beignets...OMG the beignets.
To. Die. For.
;)

Doh! Sorry about the double post!
Nice hat Beth! Very cute...very pretty lady you have there in the Big Easy, John!
So did you pony up the $1525 for the "special Denizen statue"? LOL.....
...Cohen & Sons....Gawd, c'mon Lotto! And how'd an old fart like you wind up with a young hottie like Beth?? Gimmee some tips, eh? But don't drag #82 into it, I can't compete...
[image] Nekkid John on the way to the shower, dragging #82... heh
About Beth, two things:
1. Awww!
2. JoA, you lucky person, you!
In general:
Always liked Louisiana, the land of the Cheerful Criminal.
Neffi... That image was not necessary! LOL!
So, friends... where's the party? This kitty is lookin' for trouble. *grin*
My Gawd! Somebody get to the board, quickly, and pop the breakers for the Imagery Intensifiers!
Dangit! What is *wrong* with you people? Do y'all have lives or sumthin? The weekend is my favorite time to play, and talk, and act silly on the 'net, but you folks seem suspiciously to be engaging in fun things IRL!
It ain't fair, I tell'ya!
May my liver damage be on y'all's heads!
Pphhbbbt!
Oh, when I look at that pic of Beth, I still go
Aawww! Is she blushing 'cause she's feelin' good about'ya, or what?
The more I know about Beth, the more I feel warm fuzzy (not the least bit adulterous, be assured, sir) sensations about her.
The more I know about JoA, the more I trust him (you) to advise me on setting off the flour bomb without blowing myself up.
Obviously we want to do it outdoors; just how do we get a good fuel-air mix before ignition? How do we do it "safely"? Should we have the ignition gizmo going before we disperse the flour, or should we wait until we have an optimum mix?
Owhell, Beth really is amazingly, cheerfully, happily good-lookin, you lucky dog, you!
No worries Jenna - we did the du Monde yesterday, I had the Cafe au Lait, and we both had beignets.
Your orders have been fulfilled!
Hey Gang. Beth, Love the hat. Sure hope you are feeling better. JTG. We were out at the campfire roasting brats and marshmallows. We were thinking it was a bit cool until we realized it is SNOWING where we used to live.
I'll try to root out some equations to keep you amused.
Hi, all! Just lurking... :)
FBL Glad to see you. What can I find to amuse you this evening. I'm still looking for some equations for JTG but that isn't all that fun after a week of reading research stuff.
OK JTG, Here is a freeware download that lets you make your own fractals. Download and open up the settings. Make sure you set it to scan to make it fun.
Yeah, apologies to all for the quite unnecessary imagery from my earlier post- put me right off me tea and bikkie, as the Brits say.
Just got back from a late flight, with my pal Gary. Sun setting over the Rockies... crazy contraption he flies, the Quicksilver GT 400. [thinks] Wait- that's also what I'm flying! Doh....
Hi, Neffi! Flying at sunset... Sounds absolutely heavenly. Thanks so much for all the pictures on that subject you've shared recently. :)
Mountainitis is definitely setting in. It hasn't been too bad this winter since I now live in a place with topography and sunshine, but your pictures are definitely triggering an attack.
I am not playing because by swingset is broken. It died Friday night at 6:32 pm. I am blogging from my bro's computer when I can, but you may not see me much.
My grief is still so fresh. It was the best swingset/friend/computer I'd ever had.
RIP computer, you'll be missed.
I hope you all are having a fantastic time down in the big easy. Gumbo. Must have gumbo and po'boys if you're going to eat that other stuff and go through the drive thru for daquiris.
I'll catch you all when I can.
How did it die, Kat? (I just had to replace my hard drive on my desktop.)
Poor puncti...flatlander's disease
Y'all, GO TO THE JAZZFEST!!!
Food, Culture, fun all in one place. Go for a few hours. You'll love it. Bring some sunscreen, a hat, and a good attitude.
Dave Matthews, Steve Winwood, Buckwheeat Zydeco etc. Go for the big name performers, stay for the awesome musical and soul filling collection of local food & culture.
Get some crawfish bread, its awesome.
New Orleans will be crawling with places to hear live music and "pass a good time!"
YOU WILL LOVE THE JAZZFEST!
Bienvenue!
Photography and phlying - err, flying- a great mix. You know you've had a good day when you can't remember how many landings you did (survived). I started today at dawn... and I am whacked... got headset-hair like you can't believe heh
honestly, I don't know. I was working, it started slowing to below a crawl, an icon came up and said the CPU was working at 100% and then it just shut down, never to come up again.
Sounds wonderful, Neffi. I've never been particularly interested in the type of aircraft you fly, but with all your descriptions, photos and enthusiasms, I think I'm starting to get a little wistful...
Kat,
Eep! I think there are probably people here who know more about computers than I do (I know just enough to be dangerous). But, it sounds like the hard drive might be salvageable. What are your plans? (send me an email if you want)
A NO man...love zydeco. great to dance too. John needs to send pictures of such activity so we can blackma....er...enjoy them, too.
It's a work computer so my plan was to send it off to the main office to see if they can recover it or any info on it. Hopefully, they will at least recover my files (I have so much work stuff on there I'm almost sick over it) and put it on a new one.
Lioness, my sweet... don't be wistful- check the Yellow Pages for flight instruction and go do it. I put it off for years.. and then one summer, I had painted the house and put on a new roof, and re-built the motor on the Harley...and was wondering what to do now, and then Zeus tossed a bolt my way and said 'Off yer butt, boy- go fly!' It's a whole nuther world, babe...
Neffi..if you need more work to do, my lawn is in desperate need of a work over and the suzuki carbs are acting kind of chokey. I have beer and food and an air mattress.
Someday, Neff... Gotta figure out how to pay the bills I already have, first! :)
and...my garbage disposal hit the skids...
Lawn work... motorcycle... garbage disposal and computer on the fritz... Somebody needs a man in her life ;)
(Of course, we sisters can take care it all fine by myself, but we gotta keep the men feeling useful... *grin*)
Oops, thinking outloud again!
Kat, You are making me tired.
*thinking, after rereading last post: Yikes! The need for sleep seems to have jumped me a little early tonight*
My dear ladies...I am slowly getting it done. I mowed part of the lawn today. amazing what you can do without a computer at your finger tips *wink*
But, started having withdrawals around 9pm
hello?
Beer, food, and an air mattress... OK, Kat I'll be heading east on I-70 tomorrow. 'Course, for me- Agent Orange takes care of all lawn problems... Suzuki carbs are best replaced with an S&S Super, with an older Shovelhead Harley attached to it... and for garbage disposal, I'll sell you my dog (Mikey-he eats anything) hmmm... all yer troubles solved in one swell foop heh
dude...gotta dog/garbage disposal who is filling in well...harley shovelheads leak...
And, we might need agent orange for the lawn...
one out of three ain't bad
Be still my heart! It's Super-Neffi to the rescue!!!
*fluttering fan to cool herself*
Oh..missed the S&S Super...that would work...maybe it's two out of three.
'course they leak, darlin'- it's called the 'factory installed engine external oiling system'. But I bought that Shovel new in '82, got 157,000 miles on her... only had to re-build the top end once, and that was to install nickle valve seats for unleaded gas. When your Suzie reaches that number, we'll talk, eh? heh had a Suzie 185 when I was 16- dam' good bike, rode it all over Great Britian
...and no, Lioness, that wasn't during the Great War, heh
Of course not, Neffi. It was during the Rebellion fo The Colonies. *smirk*
no...I thought he said it was the war of northern aggression?
Neffie...suzie has been around the country a few times. I didn't treat her right this winter, why she's getting all chokey on me. paying me back.
Yeah, well- Lioness, when I was a soldier they paid us in salt... ya snarky, tawney, silky, smooth-legged ummm... where was I going here? Oh yeah- the wonder of digital cameras. Ya'll hang loose, I just took a pic of the old Shovel...
are my friends sleeping now?
We're still here... :) But I AM gonna have to get to bed pretty soon. I know... it's a weekend, but I got so little sleep this week, I have some catching up to do! *snoooore... huh?!*
this thing only showing new comments when I post. pain
Trying refreshing the main page, then clicking on "Reporting As Ordered, Sir" to see new comments. Use the pop-up just for posting.
hmmmm, not the best pic- kinda dark in that there garge. But her's the old Shovel, 157000 miles and still going strong... BUT- not a good cross-country ride. Longest trip was to Sturgis (400 miles from here) and that was OK but I wouldn't want to tour on her... or do trips like you relate on yer blog, Kat. Mind you, I wouldn't like to do trips like THAT in a Cadillac...
heheh umm... those oil spots on the floor are from the lawn-mower- yeah! thats it- the lawnmower heh
ALRIGHT FUZZY WUZZY. NIGHTY NIGHT. DON'T LET THE CASTLE BED BUGS BITE
No worries about the CASTLE bed bugs... I'm not sleeping over without a chaperone! ;) hehe
Alright, babe- let's hit the sheets!
Neffi...LOL dude, I wouldn't want to take that kind of trip on a tour bus.
Yeah...oil stains are lawnmower. that's what my friend said when I put a cardboard strip under it. swore it would never come from HIS bike
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear.
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair.
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy...
Was he?
(Believe it or not, that's actually a children's song)
Oh yeah, Neffi's the perfect chaperone...
(*uncontrollable fits of laughter*)
Well, old Harleys DO leak, just a fact. But they're easy to work on, and they're good for the long haul (23 years and counting). But I like to wrench, and that's important. Makes 'em purr, you know?
Fuzzy wuzzy...you must be tired, cause we're similar age...of course I knew that. You think I'm brilliant enought to think that up by myself?
Chaperone..better be silk sheets. lions don't go for that cheap 50 thread stuff. LOL
Lioness- Wot? [assumes innocent and virginal stance] Chaperone- can do
wrenching and purring...mmmmm...I do like a man with a good tool box
Yup. Silk all the way. And Kat, "similar" is the operative word here. I'm still the youngest! :P
Goodnight, all. :)
*turns deadbolt on front door (2nd floor apt) before Neffi sneaks in*
*sticks head out the door* Virginal stance? THAT I've gotta see!
*shuts door, re-bolts lock, and rolls on the floor laughing*
not chap my a$$. chap-er-one
lioness...I will see about you being the youngest. I am definitely searching out someone to join who is at least 28 or younger..
Neffi sneaks nowhere- 2nd floor,eh? [checks grappling hook]
Kat- I'm gonna have to leave ya (just like a man, hah!) Beddies for me, too- gotta get up early.
Keep the shiney side up...
*Changes into long, thin, white cotton nightgown; slides between 240-count silk sheets; lays head on feather pillow...sets Dobermans "Deuce" and "Snake" to guarding the perimeter, and falls intstantly to peaceful sleep*
Heh. We need to have a fundraiser for our computer challenged denizens, currently standing at JTG and Kat.
Kat - NO Guy... like there will *ever* be photographic evidence of the Armorer gyrating like that.
It's been imagined. Dance of the Hours in Disney's Fantasia.
LOL at John! (Good morning, btw...)
Here is Neffi's bike, cleaned up for the Infra-red challenged.
Hey! All guest rooms at the Castle are keyed to the individual guest... anyone get's in there that ain't you - *you* wanted 'em in!
"virginal and innocent stance"
Heh.
If Neffi *has* a Guardian Angel, its head just exploded.
We could use some yout's 'round here. A good chunk of this crowd is only young when maturity is factored in.
Boq - won't be any, ever. Any photograph purporting to show the Armorer dancing is pretty much by definition a fake!
"Wanted 'em in?" Who said I didn't? Like any regal female, I require feats of derring-do from those who desire my attentions. ;)
John, you are on a roll, snark-wise, this morning!
"If Neffi *has* a Guardian Angel..."
"...only young when maturity is factored in."
ROTFLMAO
Thanks John, Me thinks that, that pix of the Shovel, was intended for dem Scrup'ls. Being nocturnal critters you know...
Though you may wanna deny yer Zydeco gyrations, I heard that you earned some beads last night. They don't give'm out fer free ya know.
Vile slander! My GA is alive and well, thangyew. This is Basil, my GA- in one of his temporal manifestations
All that shows, Neffi, is that Command didn't consider you worth the posting of a full-grown bear. *ROTFLOL!*
Now now, Basil is a bit touchy about his height... but he's got that Oerlikon to do his growling for him.
My own 'fuzzybear' heh
All I see is one wide-eyed scared-to-death bear... prolly lookin' to shoot down the source of his fear...
Ladies and Gents, watch out for John today! He is on FIRE! :)
This is a more accurate picture of Neffi's Guardian Angel when told, "C'mon, I know it's a new dirt strip, but there'e no rocks!" Very similar to what happened to his GA from last night when he averred a "virginal stance"... many heads exploded at that!
Mostly Fuzzy, I'm bored at the N'awlins airport, with free wireless access!
Oh great, my GA turns renegade... I'll see if I can't get the pin out of that auto-cannon.
...and 'stance' can easily be synonomous with 'pose', as in poseur
Poseur? Yes, that's much more believable... As for me... No pose necessary as I am of a very virginal mind--nothing but innocence and purity.
*grin as pure as the driven snow*
[pause...]
[pause...]
(Okay, not even I am buying THAT one!)
As a precaution, Basil has been re-assigned to the Hostage Negotiation practice squad, under the close supervision of Rondar...
sheesh gotta lotta time on my hands today...
Nice sentiment, Punc... but I would be more assured if that GA didn't appear to have cloven hooves for feet heh
Neffi, thanks for the laugh. I especially like the TP blindfold! Hahahaha!!
Poor Basil... actually, the blindfold is PT rather than TP. He has been paroled...
We were in N'Awlins last month . . . but the Jazz was generally pre-recorded and not particularly authentic. N'Awlins seems to be the hat capital of the Mississippi valley: more hats in the stores in the Quarter than just about anything else but mildly risqué statues.
As far as Cohen & Sons, I had to physically pry my teenage contingent out of the store: no matter how cool the stuff on the walls and in the display cases, it'd be pure hell to try to bring it back to Soviet Canuckistan. It was bad enough bringing back the weaponry we already had in hand (three practice rapiers and a dagger), never mind edged weaponry with _real_ edges or firearms.
Punct, thanx for the diffyquiew.
JoA, what is this "maturity" of which you speak?
Seems to me to involve people who have passed puberty, and had a good time doing so.
Include me out. Socially, I'm 10 years old. (with some exceptions I reserve in privacy, for some special particular cases)
snork
And, JTG having just *made* my point, I'll retire!
Good God Neffi - You sure have put Basil to work overtime haven't you. After you have put him through, he looks like he needs some R&R.
OMG, Boq - *that* is priceless! The Castle has to adopt one of those things... mebbe, if Punc will let us, *that* can be what Bedoodlewhoopies look like (though Punc is pretty hard over about Chickens...)
That previous one is certainly a good candidate for a Bedoodlewhoppie.
As runner up I could nominate this ugly gaggle.
