Welcome to the club, 'Hawk. Good on ya.
It's tougher than it looks from the outside, people. At the point I retired, only 2 of 10 people I joined with had stayed the course on active duty, leaving either by choice, or invitation. Many of them went into the Reserve, and subsequently qualified there - but 20 straight years of day in day out soldiering... good on ya, dude.
And, while we celebrate that milestone - go read to see what Da Goddess and Smash have to say about another milestone - this one being, to me, very annoying.
I bailed to make more as a civilian (Clinton era, big surprise). I've already earned and spent that military retirement many times over in just a few years. I'm damn proud of you guys who are still sticking with it though.
