Voter Fraud

No, not Ohio. Or Washington. The 2004 Weblog Awards. Someone wrote a script to auto-vote for Daily Kos - and then, brilliantly, the Kos'ers started chatting about it. Read the comments to the post. A$$hats abound.

Kevin is trying to deal with it - but obviously he can't deal with all the possible ways to cheat the system.

Good news, nobody appears to be gaming the Best Military Blog - but we here at Castle Argghhh! are losing ground to the Democratic Veteran, and have dropped from bottom of the top half to top of the bottom half.

Oh well, "It was an honor just to be nominated," right?

Vote once a day, vote your conscience. But VOTE!

As one who was entered (a big "thank you" to Indigo, by the way) but didn't make the cut of nominations, let me tell you, yes, it IS an honor to be nominated!

I'm with you man, I don't know where that Democratic Veteran came from but he's climbing fast.

Has Kos been booted out? I'm just asking because it says that cheaters will be kicked. Unless that just means the people cheating, not the blog they are cheating for.

Yep, saw that, and was so incensed that I sent a nastygram to that Kos critter. Problem was, the "contact" thingy on his blog was not real email, just a form. Nothing I wrote showed up in my "sent" file.

A shame. I thought I was right eloquent, and quite wittily nasty, when telling that guy EXACTLY what I thought of him. Worse yet, when I tried to save the page with my cute, nasty remarks, I got Kos' blank form.

It's all gone.

I'll not repeat here what I wrote to him, but here's a hint:

When I wrote "dog", I did not mean "bitch."

I don't really believe in these awards except as a way to get attention for under-noticed blogs. Otherwise it's really pretty much nonsense: whoever has the highest traffic and campaigns most effectively will win in most categories.
