This is simply cool.
This is interesting, very interesting. So is this. And this. Heck, this too.
This is funny.
CARDINAL RULE: Lawyers should never ask a witness a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grand motherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, doyou know me?" She responded, "Why, yes I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've know you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."
The Lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"She again replied, "Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."
The defense attorney almost died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, I'll throw your sorry asses in jail for contempt."
This is hilarious. Hat tip to Dennis!
Lastly, another clue for those of you trying to determine what the weapon is. Just in case you wondered, it *isn't* a Zeppelin, either... you guys are getting closer, though you are letting yourselves get focused on one thing, which is causing you to overlook something else. And that is a front sight post in the previous picture.. as will be made obvious in this one. Remember - for the most part you have the era down - I'm looking for what gun model this piece is.

Update: Bill the Rotorhead wins (and without this picture, either!). I edited his comment just to make you guys work harder!
Is it a James rifle cannon?
That Ultimate Assault Hummer looks like it will probably have one, teensy-weensy defect: what do you wanna bet that TRADOC didn't specify a manual backup installation (i.e., spade grips and trigger) for the Mk-19 and the Ma Deuce in the event of an AC power failure?
This is simply cool.
Not when in operation. What engine is that the after burner for?
That's the burner can for the candles in an F-15.
I'm surprised, they don't have MaDeuce on a Hunmvee already?
Keith,
Yes. And if you're riding in the back, the gunner usually kicks you in the ribs when he's doing a rapid traverse, which is still another reason to wear body armor. The BFD with the Assault version is, it's packed with electronics and gearing so the gunner can remain inside the vehicle and shoot the fifty, the Mark 19 and the TOW using an updated version of the pan-tel sight and a weapons selector switch.
There's not a lot of room inside an up-armored Hummer--stick four decent-sized guys with full battle-rattle in it and you might be able to squeeze in a couple of extra ammo cans, but not much more. Dollars to donuts the Assault Hummer will have a two-man crew, one of whom had better be a technogeek and the other an SAE member.
