First Rant of the Day...

Something I sent to our Mentor this morning...

This is the kind of story that probably keeps W going. It's one Kerry and Edwards could understand intellectually but, I swear to God, could never grasp morally or spiritually.

As we watch Republican offices being ransacked, fired upon, signs destroyed, lawns burned, and office computers stolen by REAL Brownshirts, I am rendered speechless. When Gwen Ifill asked the question about why the Bush Administration has failed to live up to its "Unite, Not Divide" theme, had I been Cheney I would have practically come out of the chair. Well, no, that isn't true. I'd have ticked off the above examples and would have asked Senator Edwards to direct his thugs to stand down, in my "mean and grumpy" way, to quote the Democratic campaign chairwoman.

Back the Major Banks article...to give you some idea of how low we can now sink, when I read the piece, I couldn't help thinking about Ted Rall and Markos "Screw 'Em" Zuniga. I can see the cartoon strip in the Village Voice and imagine the post on the Daily Kos now: the chump burning in Hell for living the life he has (Rall's take) and Kos' hoping out loud that the cancer really hurt in the last moments of the Major's life. And, no, I'm not linking to their websites...if you want to go sewer snorkeling, I'm not going to help you...

That's where the Left is today. I bow to The Corner's ability to keep it civil--you guys are about the only ones left (no pun intended).

Nice thought regarding the comeback you would have said to the "Unite, Not Diviide" by Ifill.

Thanks. I think you are spot on about W - Kerry and Edwards just don't get the Warrior Caste. You would think that a self-proclaimed freakin' war hero would understand...

Matt,

I think the operative term here is "self proclaimed." That explains a lot.

Love the blog by the way...and King Wesley (my favorite Richard Cranium) was never in Kosovo long enough to NEED an air conditioner...heh.
