While I am not as sure as Jen is about whether or not America is becoming a land of Athenians... I do agree with her 100% regarding the wisdom of "doubling the size of Special Operating Forces."
Aaron notes that 10,000,000 women have registered to vote. So, who mounted this voter-registration drive? Democrats, or Republicans?
Want debate coverage? Obviously I'm not doing it... but these people are:
Allah has a great round-up of round-ups. Les Jones has more. You've probably already seen what James at Inside the Beltway had to say. Everybody else in the 'sphere linked to it - what can I say, I'm a follower! Banagor asks, "Who do you want on your side?" The Indepundit covers it, as well. And last, but not least, Wizbang is at it too. Blogs of War is up on it, as well.
And btw - if you haven't read Ralph Peter's talking about one of the units I'm a veteran of - you should. 1st ID and Iraqi forces in Samarra. Proud to have been a Big Red One!
The AlphaPatriot is keeping an eye on the Dems on the front lines. And the picture really isn't pretty. Ironic how the Party That Most Wants To Disarm the People is the Party of Shooting At The Opposition. (And no, I don't think that's orchestrated policy... )
He also manages to get a little snarky in a classical way...
Blaster has a follow-up on the Democrat-supporters actions that sums up my thoughts nicely.
And the Commissar celebrates the Heroes of the Revolution!
From Blackfive - someone you should know, Major Mark Banks, Father, Cop, Soldier. Click the Major Mark Banks link in Matt's article.
Now is the time at Castle Argghhh! when we dance: In Memoriam.
LaShawn Barber wasn't watching the debate... but she was busy digging around a bit and discusses an interesting use of the Internet.
Mamamontezz wants you to go read a letter. You should. It answers a question. Are there Muslims who unequivocally renounce the beheadings? Yes. In Corpus Christi. While I would like to have seen this letter come out under Saudi, Egyptian, Syrian, Indonesian, Pakistani, Sudanese, Libyan, Tunisian, Iranian, et.al. letterhead - I'll at least be happy to point out this one.
Even though I can't convince Michelle we at Castle Argghhh! are worthy of her blogroll - I'll give her a link for this gem. You're in good company, Michelle. We're still not blogrolled by Glenn, either.
Over at Mostly Cajun, he's consoling himself that he has that Arcadian Interlude to further insulate his lineage back to France. I say, if you're a Cajun, we'll stop tracing the line back at Arcadia Acadia [D-oh! ed]. Face it - ya go back far enough, it's all ugly.
Bill Faith of In Bill's World is having a rough time right now. Charity begins at home, and as someone who has also waited around for the VA to make up it's collective mind, I empathize. Go, read, do what ya think is right.
Greyhawk finds a Marine who simply can't Not Be A Marine. But he oughta get a break, for pity's sake!
Publicola takes issue with Long John Silver's company policy on How To Deal With Robberies. I'm with the manager here. I'll give 'em what they want. But if it starts to turn ugly, I'm going uglier.
Say Uncle is eyeing a new deer rifle...
The Commissar notes the passing of some Real Men.
When I look at Barrett's 25mm XM109, Say Uncle's "deer rifle", I have to think Barrett certainly went the long way around to reinvent the harquebus.
Oh, John of Argghh. How unCanadian of you. It is merely Acadian not Arcadian.
I lived from '97 to '02 happily on the North Shore of PEI amongst rural Gallants (previously Haché) who were named such after their 100 forefathers hid in the woods in 1758 from the redcoats seeking to deport them with the other 4500 who were dragged from what was then Isle St. Jean during the Deportation or the Deportation. Dandy folk.
Here for your eastern Canadian reference needs,
Alan

D-oh! I knew that, too. Dang nab it!
Oh well, I don't think I was gonna get an honorary citizenship any time soon, anyway!
