Morning Reads

Allah has advice for watching the Main Stream Media - go do some fact-checking, especially when the term 'moderate muslim' is used. Who should know better than Allah?

Chris Roach posts a reformed Liberal's definition of Liberalism. If I have any readers of the Liberal stripe - care to comment?

It looks like they may have caught the jerk who attacked Foster Barton, the convalescing soldier who was mugged at the Toby Keith concert. Hat tip: Jeff Quinton (who's looking for Guest Bloggers, btw.)

Dean Esmay offers an alternative view regarding some of the more 'edgy' campaign commercials. I'm with Dean, frankly. Dean is also being interviewed on radio - and doing interviews.

Citizen Smash is also on the radio talkshow circuit! And you can catch him on Internet Radio!

Bill, over at INDC Journal (who isn't getting near enough credit for his role in MemoForge) interviewed some bigs at CBS regarding the Draft Story. What I find bemusing is that they essentially knew the 'line' of the story (restarting the draft) was false, but since it was something 'people were talking about' they wanted to cover it. Okay, fine. But they covered it as if it was true... and didn't point out it wasn't true... because, apparently, that wasn't the story...? Okay, the gents at CBS News need to take a sabbatical. Don't take my word for it - go read the interview.

Parker speculates on the future of commercial space travel. He's not that optimistic - but he's sure the next few years are gonna be fun for space geeks like himself!

A reminder from Kim Du Toit: National Ammo Day! The goal... one beeeelllleeeyon rounds!

Mamamontezz has a drinking game for the debate tonight. BTW - I won't be covering it - there are so many others out there who do that stuff so much better'n me, so I'll keep my blood pressure down and not even watch it, frankly.
I'll probably read Inside Centcom instead.

Greyhawk has expanded his gastronomic horizons over there in Baghdad, and wonders how the media is going to resurrect the dead - especially since many of them seem somewhat hostile to the spiritual side of things, being secular humanists and all...

Susie at Practical Penumbra is doing limericks for homework.

While you're there - check out her suggested debate questions.

Cassandra (of I Love Jet Noise) thinks bloggers are having a positive impact on democracy. Hmmm. On Nov 3, (assuming we aren't in the throes of the courts fighting over chads) I suspect the losing side (especially if it's the Dems) will be calling blogs and bloggers of the Right a Pox on Humanity.

Last but not least for this morning's reading - Rusty Shackelford at MyPetJawa is a little annoyed with the sad sacks at MSNBC who swiped his stuff without attribution. Well, at least they aren't the MSM. In MSNBC's case, they're the runt of the litter.
