Way to go, heroes.

UPDATE: By the way - if you are coming in from a link, go up one post for a more thorough coverage.

Hope you are proud of yourselves. Big men and women. Made the little girl cry - strike a blow for Kerry! Mind you - I don't hold Kerry responsible for this... just his weak-minded a$$hole supporters.

Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) made a brief stop at the airport as he concluded his two-day bus tour to locations in West Virginia and Ohio. Same reaction exactly when I saw this earlier today.

This is what is going to cause Kerry's loss to be a landslide loss. He has too many "friends" who are not part of his campaign and not under his direction who are messing up bigtime. (Dan Rather did WHAT!)

Kerry's leadership failure is that his campaign has not been dynamic and has failed to provide a guiding message that might entrain these outside groups to some constructive purpose. Nobody is herding the loose cannons.

I am 23.

I got into a physical scuffle with some union thugs in Minnesota in 2002. Or, should I say, they got into a scuffle with me (blind-sided me with a punch) as I held a Norm Coleman sign on election day. It's amazing how these guys think they can get away with anything.

That day, by the way, was one of my favorite days of all time. Minnesota Republicans kicked total ass, statewide.

Monty briefed on September 17, 2004 03:30 AM

Yup, BIG STRONG MEN, it's just amazing how after seeing their "brothers" in the fight to take the White House do things like this, these people still claim that the GOP and conservatives are the "evil republicans" who are "ruining" and "lying to" America.

BTW - I will be keeping track of ALL such occurances at my new blog:

When Idio-Libs Attack

And I, like you, do not hold Kerry or Edwards (or their campaign) responsible, just the JERK who did it!

Mikey briefed on September 17, 2004 06:48 AM

With supporters like these John Kerry will never lack for opponents; with opponents like these George Bush will never lack for supporters.

...except if you look a little further this is the third time the exact same thing has happened to this family - quite possibly with the same agitator! ( see here http://rising-hegemon.blogspot.com/2004/09/bogus-assault-father-freeper-of-year.html)Unlucky or what? Normally I wouldn't feel I have to spell this out, but in this case I'll make an exception. Hasn't it occured to you that rather than the Dems being unpleasant, just possibly there are some depths to which good old republics are happy to stoop. Sorry to shatter any illusions.

Ken Norlie briefed on September 17, 2004 07:02 PM

Allow me to say this: if anyone attacks me for speaking my mind, it's on.

BUT IF ANYONE ATTACKS MY FAMILY--I WILL SHOOT AND KILL HIM.

George Wobbly Bush (ooo! Satire!) briefed on September 17, 2004 09:22 PM

Yep, the guy on the left is his father's son. In
other words it's a total con job, but hey, you
all are probably happy to give it a pass because
dammit, that's a Republican doing the lying and
cheating and taking advantage of the sympathy we
would feel for his daughter.
I guess this just goes to show, there is no depth
to which republicans will not sink.
If you wonder why the silent majority in the
center is tilting towards the democrats,
this would be why.

Oh yeah, and the lying about WMD's, the
president's drinking, the utter and complete
strategic blunder that is the Iraq War, not to
mention, record deficits, and the rising
corruption in the Department of Homeland
Security.

John of Argghhh! briefed on September 17, 2004 09:37 PM

Dude - you didn't read the intro, did ya?

Diogenes, my ass!

And the Union knows who that guy is - which is why the Union president is apologizing all over the place.

Ya gotta keep up on the story, dude, not just get your check-in at Atrios and move out with 'the word'!

CWA briefed on September 28, 2004 11:52 PM

The Local Union President did the proper thing and apologized for an 'incident' without making a judgement. The so called 'incident' did take place at was supposed to be a union event.

The man is a repeated proven fraud, and uses his family in the commision of that fraud.

And answer me this, if business can unite for common purpose (voicesforchoices), why the heck can't workers do the same.

John of Argghhh! briefed on September 29, 2004 06:27 AM

No one said workers can't organize. And, as I noted in the post, depending on the venue, the organizers can quite properly exclude people with opposing views.

Depending on local conditions, I can accept an argument for local authorities to choose to intervene to prevent violence.

I also said I wasn't all that impressed with the decision to bring the girl - though there comes a time when it's perfectly appropriate to bring your kids to things like this. 3 years old isn't that time, in my mind.

But this was a public event in a public place, and you are deliberately skirting the issue.

THE ISSUE IS: I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FLIP WHAT YOUR POLITICS ARE, HOW PASSIONATE YOU ARE ABOUT THEM, AND JUST HOW MUCH A JERK YOU THINK THE OPPONENT IS - YOU DON'T ATTACK THE THREE YEAR OLD CHILD.

That's the issue. All the rest is bullshit excuses on both sides.

The man who tore up Sarah's sign is a jackass. And there is no defense.

You don't like that?

Tough.

Nothing you had to say alters the basic premise in any way.

But thanks for the comment!
