Actually, he's looking for bloggers, of whatever persuasion, who ever served in the military (bear in mind that inlcudes the Coast Guard - the Coasties know that, but many other don't know that).

And for those who don't know - that would also include She Who Will Be Obeyed, my wife and fellow bloggist, who has started Carnival of the Recipes!
*(that means I was a Regular. Army of the United States (AUS) is the technical term for the Reserve, National Guard of the United States (NGUS) for the Guard. Now I'm a member of the Retired Reserve.) And I'd like to point out that both sides of the family have a record of service going back generations. In fact, since my retirement, this represents the first time there isn't a member of either family in service since the Indian War period.
