Spirit of America "Team Spirit" Push to $50K

GUIDONS-GUIDONS-GUIDONS This is Fusileer 6, SITREP Follows.

The original end time for this effort was 1 minute after midnight, about 4 and a half hours ago, as of this writing.

The totals are:

Blog / Coalition Amount Raised
Castle Argghhh! Fighting Fusileers for Freedom! ................$18277.39
The Victory Coalition ..........................................$16321.44
Liberty Alliance ....................................................$8979

In terms of the 'competition' phase, we won, boys and girls - though clearly the other two coalitions have put forth a gangbusters effort to close the gap. Given that we 'merged' our efforts yesterday noonish or so, we done good!

We merged and extended our efforts through midnight today for one reason - to hit the overall goal of $50,000! To that end - we're all cross-posting the various efforts to this combined venue, Vbay! We're not asking for new ideas (of course, if you have any really good ones that might be major money-makers, all will be examined!) just push the ones we have going, which are pretty good, I think!

All y'all were everything I could have asked for and more! Thank you!

And thank you, Aaron, for ferreting out this!

UPDATE: I'm tired and I am html incompetent, and I am really tired. So I quit. Trying to edit Kevin's html. All I'm doing is making the problem worse and pissing people off with trackbacks as I try to make Kevin's html fit my template. And since I can't seem to do that - go here for the updated auction stats. I.have.finally.had.it. From where the sun now stands, I will type no more forever. On this subject at least.

I think everyone needs some sleep. No one is mad at you for trackbacks, even if they needled you a bit.

I should have been more explicit. Unless you hacked MT to allow it, putting all of the links in the extended entry should have avoided sending trackbacks.

John of Argghhh! briefed on April 29, 2004 08:23 AM

I haven't hacked MT, I just didn't put that stuff in the extended post because I wasn't thinking about it. 'Sides, some people like the trackbacks. Only one, to be sure, but they like 'em!

Plus, I finally realized most of what the problem was- you build your blog as /div containers, my posts are all one bin.

Plus, the email screws up the link formatting with extra spaces, and converts some

And it was early. After a late night. With 12 hours of staring into sim output still staring me in the face.

So, my humor meter was commented out.

Like I said - html incompetent, especially at this point in a loooong week!

Hmm... that extended entry thing is a useless clue for the future. I think I have everything on the vBay mail linked up nicely at the Flea (and apologies to everyone I Pinged the Mercilessly! ok, could not quite get that pun working...).

Susie briefed on April 29, 2004 11:26 AM

It took me about an hour to reajust all the links and breaks that email had messed up, but I kept the post in draft every time I saved so I hope no one is going to get pongged...

Thank you John, you did a one hell of a job. You inspired and cajoled us into doing our best.

The three challenge groups performed spendidly and selflessly...you're all winners in my book.

Kudoes!
