Since it's not clear (based on emails I'm getting from smart but confused people) let me try again to make it clear.
Noonish or so central time, I'll send out an email with the donate button graphic and the url that links to the Fighting Fusileer cashier at Spirit of America.
The battle opens at one minute past midnight tonight. I'll figure out which time zone at lunch when I send out the implementation email.
I waited this long because a, there were technical glitches that SoA had to fix, and b, I didn't want anyone jumping LD!

From the context of your post, I presume the cryptic "LD at 0001hrs" means 'H-Hour is 0001hrs', with LD an inexplicable substitution for "Start Line".

Air-cooled Lewis guns on ringmounts on the front of landing craft? Is that historically accurate?
For the early days of the war, it is.
(I should caveat this - at least in training, if perhaps not in combat as depicted here).
Little known fact about the amphibious landings - an awful lot of the landing craft were manned by the Coast Guard!

That gent in the foreground is Douglas Munro, who is the only Coastie to ever earn the Medal of Honor. He did it the hard way off Guadalcanal in 1942, leading the rescue of three companies of Chesty Puller's 7th Marines who were in danger of being overrun.
