Y'know, I know the guy was unhappy...

...and that he'd had a full life and didn't want to go through the indignity of dying from a brain tumor.

But.

It didn't give him the right to screw up the pilot's life by being the agent of his chosen method of suicide, nor did it give him the right to splat himself on someone's patio - who will now always have that image when (and if) they use it.

Sorry. The dead man is a selfish jerk. And I shed no tears for him. Flash of glory, my ass. Flash of gory, maybe.

Feh.

Wanna know what I'm talking about - go visit Eric!

There's one thing I'm still trying to figure out. I trade power in the California ISO for a major energy company. Monday, the same day that guy took a dive from a plane, there was a phase I emergency in Cal--where they start calling all available generation and start publicly asking people to reduce energy usage. What I and a few others tried unsuccessfully to find out is if the power line outages caused by this guy's falling body were in any way related to the energy shortage that day.

For the record, there were no shortages at all for the rest of the week.

Heh. There's a thought. If so, bill the estate.
