Today in History.

1885 Louis Riel's rebels defeat Canadian forces at Duck Lake, Sask. For JMH - I know, it was NWMP, *not* the Army.

1944 Submarine USS Tullibee sinks herself with a malfunctioning a torpedo, only one survivor, Gunner's Mate 2c C.W. Kuykendall. (She did sink her target, too)

1945 Seventh Army attacks Worms on the Rhine. This just sounds wrong in English. Kind of like when I was a kid I thought I understood Martin Luther's problem with the Catholic Church - I mean, c'mon, The Diet of Worms? Who needs to read the 95 Theses? The problem (to my young mind) seemed pretty clear!
