Time for some Saturday Link-love

Greyhawk has a four part post on the travails and travels of an American Warrior.

Les Jones shares thoughts on the Arab world (thoughts I happen to share).

Aakash over at University Blog has well-written thoughts on things in the news. You should go just to hear a college student speak his mind. He's of a conservative bent, but he certainly does not march in step with the VRWC, he stakes out his own terrain.

Phil Carter at Intel Dump has two very interesting posts on the looming potential struggle between the Supreme Court and the Administration on the 'enemy combatant' issue (which I think needs to go to the court and get a definitive ruling, much like Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War needed resolution) and another on whether or not General Wesley Clark was relieved of his position as SACEUR. I normally find myself nodding yes, yes, at what Phil says, but I'm not as aligned with him on this. He essentially lays out the case as he sees it, and says, no, Clark was not relieved - but I think his analysis is too lawyerly (what a shock, since he's a law student). On a purely technical note, Clark was not relieved. But when you get told you are coming out of a job early - and they don't have a new job for you, and no one of significance shows up to your retirement ceremony - you got fired. The actions speak louder than the words in this case. General Clark was fired. While President Clinton had to approve it, as completely clueless as he was about things military, he well not have known that he was in effect firing Clark. It is perfectly plausible to me that Cohen and Shelton used Clinton's cluelessness to get something done they wanted done - fire Clark - without the mess of actually firing him, and from his books, Clark clearly thinks so too.

The Curmudgeon is clearly annoyed. He offers a binary solution to a problem. One or the other. Period. Hmmmm. I like it. While you are there, you should read the other stuff. But come back here! I like the hits in the morning, it smells like blogging.

Chad is back from a rather long hiatus to poke his blogbrother in the eye. We'll have to keep an eye on those slackers.

Madfish Willie is full of alcoholic goodness today.

Wind Rider at Silent Running has a caption contest. POD bashers - hie thee hence! I'm going to keep an eye on that one and I'll show the results over here if Wind Rider doesn't mind. I wish I had found that picture!

I'm gonna post this and continue browsing my blog-buffet.
