A Monday tour of the 'roll from the bottom up!

To balance out yesterday's trip from the top down!

Kelley at Suburban Blight talks about squashing dissent - and how the weenies in this country who decry what a voice-stifling-dictatorship we've become wouldn't recognize real quashing if it hit them in the face. Because places like Cuba do hit you in the face - and they don't notice...

e-Claire discusses MoveOn's Hitler ads in the context Godwin's Law. Wish I'd thought of that! Kevin did!

Blaster links to an excellent article about a buddy of his - whose doctoral thesis was on how to fight guerrilla warfare - and who is now on the few academics who actually puts theory to practice. It's an excellent article in the NYT Magazine (I know, how odd...) that will require registration. Hey, set up a Yahoo or Hotmail account and use that. You can always flush your cookies.

Cute TX Blonde (give us a pic! Yeah, I'm hopeless) has a nice rant about spam. She also just has a nice homey blog that's fun to check in on and see what's up. She doesn't get shrill like I do... 8^)

Eric at Classical Values posted puppy pics! As regular readers of this space know, we recently lost two of our canine family members, and did add a puppy. Houdini (he's an escape artist) really did wonders for both our older dogs before they finally succumbed to entropy. Puppies have a sense of wonder and energy about them that invigorates everyone, old dog or middle-aged man. After going "Awwwww, aren't they cute?" drop down and read his entry on communism.

Kurt at Jockularocracy has an entry about students in a college in California extensively falsifying data in a study. Okay, no story, we suspect that of a sizable minority of academics, much less students. There are studies that tell us that, right? Twist here is that it involved the Scott Peterson murder trial, and was a component of the data used by the judge in the case to agree to a change of venue. After being told the data was suspect, the judge apparently just shrugged it off. Go visit Kurt and get the details.

Triticale (not his True Name) has an entry discussing the impact of 9/11 on the decisions of citizens to get involved. It includes a quote from a police chief who obviously is not the Chief of Willmette, IL!

Alphapatriot has a bit on Middle Eastern drug gangs in Australia. I wonder if these are devout practitioners of the "Religion of Peace" who are just "waging jihad by other means"? The efforts of the US and it's allies to shut down Al Qaeda's finances have pushed them even deeper into drug dealing. Of course, the Nanny State is striving to get itself as thoroughly established in Ozland as in Britain - with the concomitant inability of Aussies to defend themselves.

Don Sensing has a post on the differences in the approach different practitioners of Islam take to life. A reminder that not all Muslims are Islamofacists.
