Ummm.... I stand to be corrected, but I think L'Express started publishing in 1953. If that is so, the Eisenhower cover would be a fake.
That would be why the [satire mode ON] switch is invoked. I also don't think L'Express shilled for the SS, either... 8^)
I guess I am just slower than your average bear sometimes.
Although I would not put it past L'Express to shill for the SS....
