I go to Reno, blogging gets very light (dialup sucks) and my traffic increases.
Hmmmm.
So, if I do less, I get more traffic? A touch counter-intuitive, and not an ego-polisher. So, gotta dig a little deeper. Don't want to damage the delicate ego of the blogger, now do we?
I check my referrer stats and realize I have been granted a boon. Kim du Toit has added me to his pretty selective 'roll.
Thanks, Kim. I'll try to keep earning my place!
Note to self: Field grade Leg Rangers should not go to jump school under any circumstances whatsoever.
PS -- Neither should 39-year old men.
This bidness truly sucks, John.

And I was only 27!
Did they leave you out of Jumping Jack Joy on the first day? Or the other mind-numbing, lower-back breaking grass drills? They did us other, 'senior' types.
Getting some heat from being a Leg Ranger?
Take some heart from this - from a purely physical perspective, this will be the worse week. Tower and Jump weeks are more psych than physical.
That said - you aren't there to prove anything to anyone but yourself. So push as hard as you need to to get by - but remember, you aren't as flexible, nor do you recover as fast. As I recall, there are whirlpools at the gym. Don't hesitate to use them.
So don't try to outperform the young'uns unless you can do it without excess effort. I mean it.
They'll be impressed if you get through (remember, they hurt, too) and no one is impressed if you medical out.
No heroics, Major. Just get the job done. Unlike the young studs, you don't have multiple chances ahead of you.
I went through Ranger school with a 43 year-old Sergeant Major.
You can do this, Donnie!
