Red America at Work.

Go to Powerline and read the story of CPT Zan Hornbuckle, who had a long day in Iraq. And rose to the occasion. And did so without flashy heroics, the kind that get your men killed. He did it with unflashy heroics - the kind that get your enemy, over 200 of them, killed. Hornbuckle had 80 troops, an ad hoc formation that had never trained or worked together. Can't ask for more than that from a warrior leader.

Hat tip to King of Fools for the pointer.
