22AD Ancient & Medieval Artillery
fac ut gaudeam

22AD is available displays, demonstrations and events. Contact Murray with the email address on the left to discuss your requirements.

The next planned event for 22AD is Catapult Camp.

Catapult Camp is a two day training activity which theroetically is meant to get at least some my crew trained up to instructor level for several paid events coming up later in the year. But since the likelyhood of any of them showing up is similar to winning lotto I actually need a few random people to show up so I can can test out the program before offering out other people who will pay to show up.
So call yourselves my "crash test dummy list".

The date for this activity is the weekend 30th - 31st August - which, gosh if I check a map of this calendar, turns out to be right smack bang in the middle of mid semester break. So for those of you who are 22AD I've given you plenty of warning to get your excuses ready so don't try and effect a suprised expression at the end of July and have your responses for bailing out ready to save us all some time.

We'll be having it around Palmerston North somewhere, I suspect it will invlove open ground of some kind. Saturday will be a lot of theory, history, maths, principles and safety as well picking crews. Sunday will be all shooting with practice in the morning and a teams competition in the afternoon.

Machines being taught are ballista, onager, traction trebuchet, wheeled trebuchet and swinging counterweigth trebuchet (hopefull all big ones by then). Actual activites may be modified, altered or skipped entirely dependeding on how it goes. As I said this is a test but there will be "structure" of some kind. Feel free to bring your kids as it will be aimed at those still able to learn and the more there are there the better it will look in the pictures. Pretty certificates will be provided to those who are there when I give them out.

Cost to non-22AD members is $30 to help us cover costs. Lunch both days and dinner Sunday will be provided.  Feel free to contact me if you want to know more.

Thanks
M.
